Latest Catches and River Updates from Oregon’s Waters
Umpqua River - Douglas, OR
Current River & Coastal Conditions
Water levels on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers have been steady this week, with slightly cooler mornings creating ideal conditions for salmon and steelhead. On the coast near Newport and Astoria, tides have lined up nicely, giving anglers more consistent bites during the early outgoing tide.
Trophy Fish Caught
Several anglers landed impressive Chinook salmon in the 15–25 lb. range, with a handful of larger fish pushing past 30 lbs. Coho are also active, striking well on spinners and bait rigs. Trout action has been steady in smaller streams, and summer steelhead are making their way upriver, giving us multiple hook-ups in recent trips.
Family-Friendly Fishing Adventures
Our recent family charters have been all smiles—kids especially loved pulling in feisty Coho and learning the ropes on lighter tackle. Safety gear and easy-to-use setups keep things fun and stress-free, so the whole family can enjoy a relaxed day on the water.
Seasonal Outlook
Late summer into early fall is prime time for Oregon salmon fishing. Chinook runs are heating up, and Coho season will continue strong over the next several weeks. Steelhead are becoming more active as water temperatures shift, making now an excellent time to book a trip and take advantage of peak fishing conditions.
